"Let's tidy up the nursery!"

Today has been one of those days, plenty to do, yet not a ton got done... funny how that works, huh? I did school the kids today. E is doing good with her phonics, and we worked on art instead of math today, C refused to do his phonics, so we did art and hand-eye coordination instead with little sister RB (not quite two). I did a grocery run and watered the "green house-patio" which really isn't at all a green house, just container growing on the front "porch" and landing area, and part of it has indoor/outdoor carpet so it does feel-ish like it could be an extension of inside the house. Dinner has been had and the bedtime crankies are coming on so bedtime isn't too far off. But there is a strange feeling in the air.. Strangely cool and humid, like a storm is coming even though there isn't one in the forecast. So I'm thinking..

Tonight is a great night to get all the machines running, work on Mt. Washmore, clean the main areas of the house, and get some typing in! Yeah! So My current plan is to:

get the kids to bed
Get the dishwasher running
Start up the washer and drier... ugh.. I hate using so much juice for stuff, but we haven't simplified enough to do without them yet!

while those are running I'll make a quick run through of the house and get things tidy and then turn to some office time.
I'm very excited because tomorrow is Garage day! Who would think cleaning a garage would be something to look forward to?
Maybe I'll be able to get a few files done as well, but we'll see.

But tomorrow for sure should be a good laundry day.. wake up early.... get the washer running, and put my clothesline to great use! Bring it! So maybe tomorrow will be a progress report.. . and soon maybe I can start prepping my fiber-fleece! "Let's do this thing!!!" (from Ratatouille )

Homeschooling

Right now I'm working on schooling my 2 oldest children, ages 4 and 3. We are using a phonics program that includes handwriting and flash cards to solidify numbers for early math stills, and shapes and numbers. So far, it seems to be going very well. E, my 4 year old, is getting noticeably better with her speech clarity. C, my 3 year old, is doing great with his letter writing. Now if I could just get C to potty train! Lol. We are slowly incorporating more art into our schooling, and this fall we'll be including trips to the library for some peer time (story time for the C and E, and toddler time for RB.) So the first few posts I do will be rather short. Like I said, comments about what you'd like to know more about are welcome!

First Blog!!!

Ok, I'm very new to this, so I am open to suggestions about what to write about. For right now I'll just say hi, and I'm looking forward to getting to know others as I write about what's going on in my "world" at any given time. Future topics may include anything from raising a family, FLYing, craftiness (if you know me, you know how much this can cover, if not, ask and I'll explain), my "work" at the moment... any thing that is asked for! So yea, talk to you soon!
